I received an offer but the appointment time is marked as “Time TBD.” What does that mean?
Updated
Inspired by the acronym for “to be determined,” TBD Signings are orders that have an assigned date but don’t specify an exact appointment time. They provide more flexibility for Jot notaries to fit more signings into their busy schedules.
These are the steps to take for a TBD signing:
If you are assigned a TBD Signing, it will show up at the very top of your order cards. You’ll coordinate directly with the signer to select the appointment time. You can find the signer's contact information in the details section. Please call the signer to arrange a suitable time for the signing. You will be expected to set the appointment time within one hour of accepting the offer.
Once you and the signer agree on a time, you’ll log the appointment time in the Jot™ platform and your order cards will return to chronological order.
From there, it’s business as usual! The signing will show the chosen appointment time on your Notary Dashboard.
Reminder: Please note that some platform features such as the "Add to Calendar" button and the ability to upload or download documents will be disabled until you set the appointment time for the signing.
These are some commonly asked questions:
What happens if I miss the 1-hour window to schedule the signing?
We encourage you to schedule the signing as soon as possible after accepting. Missing the deadline may result in removal from the assignment, and the signing being reassigned to a different notary.
What if I can’t reach the signer?
If you run into any trouble reaching the signer, please note that within the order to the escrow officer or send a message via the Jot™ platform.
