If you're not certain you can complete a signing at the scheduled time, it's best to decline the offer rather than accept it.
Signings often involve time-sensitive tasks, such as scanbacks, which must be submitted within four hours of the appointment. Accepting a signing you can't fulfill may cause delays for the signer, escrow officer, and other parties involved.
If you've already accepted an offer and later realize you can't complete the signing, please forfeit the signing in the Jot™ platform as soon as possible. Promptly forfeiting the order allows it to be offered to another qualified notary without unnecessary delays.
Please do not accept a signing with the intention of rescheduling the signer. Once you accept a signing, you are responsible for completing it unless the order has been officially reassigned through Jot. You may not transfer the signing to another notary or arrange for another notary to attend the appointment on your behalf.
